Enuresis has been described throughout recorded time. A comprehensive
summary by Glicklich (1951) found descriptions going
back to the Papyrus Ebers of 1550 b.c. The
history of enuresis is also rich with regard to the various treatment
modalities that have been used over the years. Unfortunately, many
of these would now appear to be sadistic in nature, given our current
base of knowledge.
