Black Males and Psychotherapy: Theoretical Issues

Abstract

As a result of racism black males face internal and external obstacles that possibly cause psychic conflicts. The authors reviewed this topic from a theoretical perspective. Events that would precipitate the black males’ need for psychotherapy; where he would seek treatment; and conflicts presented in treatment are explored.
