Elective Brief Psychotherapy with Children

Abstract

Elective brief psychotherapy is one of the spectrum of brief interventions with children. The technique and its theoretical rationale are discussed. The goals are relatively ambitious. Persistent positive psychodynamic changes can occur. Case examples are used to illustrate the treatment and status at follow-up.
