Abstract

This paper defines a common dysphoric syndrome which surfaces during the remission from manic-depressive episodes. Cognitive techniques can bring about the resolution of the initial negative tranference, the development of continuity and integration in the patient’s sense of self as well as the establishment of a hopeful life perspective.
