Developing Clinical Facilities in Forensic Psychiatry

Publication: American Journal of Psychiatry

Abstract

Comprehensive clinical facilities in forensic psychiatry have been developed at Temple University through its unit in law and psychiatry over the past ten years. They range from evaluation and therapeutic services in a state penitentiary and county prison to a psychiatric clinic of the Quarter Sessions Court and a civil-legal clinic evaluating clients for the Legal Aid Society and the Community Legal Services, Inc. These facilities provide a strong clinical base for continued research and comprehensive training in forensic psychiatry.
