At the time the article “Association of Cerebral Emboli With Accelerated Cognitive Deterioration in Alzheimer's Disease and Vascular Dementia,” by Nitin Purandare, Ph.D., F.R.C.Psych., et al. was published online on December 2, 2011, the Results section of the abstract contained the statement “Neuropsychiatric Inventory scores also indicated faster cognitive decline in patients with cerebral emboli.” The Neuropsychiatric Inventory assesses behavioral and psychological symptoms, but not cognition. The word “cognitive” was deleted for the article's print appearance in the March 2012 issue and for its online posting as part of that issue.
