Anxiety disorders are common in older adults and cause considerable distress and functional impairment. However, they are typically not assessed or managed properly. In this chapter, we briefly discuss the epidemiology and neurobiology, neuropsychiatry, and neuropsychology of anxiety disorders in late life. We then review treatment outcome studies and discuss guidelines for assessment and management.
