Psychopharmacotherapy is the combined use of psychoactive medication and psychotherapy, and it requires great skill to execute well. Psychopharmacotherapy has been shown to be effective with many types of patients(Cuijpers et al. 2009a, 2009b; Maalouf and Brent 2012; Otto 2006; Pampallona et al. 2004; Thase 1997). The goal of this chapter is to demonstrate how solution-focused therapy can be utilized in performing psychopharmacotherapy.
