This book offers a methodology that psychotherapists can use to plan a course of treatment. While it builds upon previous efforts, it also puts forward some new ideas about this sometimes neglected element of psychotherapy. Central to this methodology is the partnership between our patients and ourselves that allows us to pursue the best possible outcome. Patients come to us in emotional distress and unable to function at their highest level. If we plan a course of psychotherapy and implement that plan, we can more effectively help them recover from their dysphoria and dysfunction.
