In this chapter, we describe a cognitive-behavioral approach that has produced a vast research literature in the past three decades about the efficacy of variants of exposure therapy for anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). We limit our discussion to treatments that have amassed the strongest empirical support.
