IMGs’ Role in Psychiatry Around the Globe to Be Discussed

International medical graduates (IMGs) are invited to gather for the IMG Summit, whose centerpiece is a special symposium titled “Global Psychiatric Education and Practice: Role of International Medical Graduates in American Psychiatry.” The summit will be held on Saturday, May 3, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Empire West Room, Second Floor, Sheraton New York Times Square Hotel. The coordinator of the summit is Nyapati Rao, M.D., M.S., the Von Tauber Chair of Psychiatry Chief and Academic Officer at the Nassau University Medical Center.
The symposium will be presented by APA’s Division of Diversity and Health Equity, the APA Caucus of International Medical Graduate Psychiatrists, and the Committee on Globalization of the Group for the Advancement of Psychiatry. Residents, physicians, educators, administrators, and interested others are welcome to attend. Attendance is free, but registration is advised since space is limited. Among the distinguished speakers at the summit will be Darrell Kirch, M.D., president and CEO of the Association of American Medical Colleges, who will deliver the keynote address. ■
