Annual Meeting Highlights

Here are just some of the annual meeting highlights and general information that will help you get the most out of your experience at the meeting.
Opening Session: Sunday, May 17, 4:30 p.m.-6:45 p.m. Opening ceremonies will be followed by “A Special Conversation With Paul Summergrad, M.D., Helen S. Mayberg, M.D., and the Hon. Patrick Kennedy on Science, Advocacy, and Talking About Mental Health.” Exhibit Hall A, Level 300, North Building, Toronto Convention Centre.
Convocation of Distinguished Fellows: Monday, May 18, 5:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m. The session includes the induction of distinguished fellows and introduction of distinguished life fellows; fellows and life fellows; 50-year distinguished life fellows, life fellows, and life members; international distinguished fellows and international fellows; presentation of awards; and the presentation of the William C. Menninger Memorial Convocation Lecture. Exhibit Hall A, Level 300, North Building, Toronto Convention Centre.
Registration/Course Enrollment at Toronto Convention Centre: Friday, May 15, noon.-6 p.m.; Saturday-Wednesday, May 16-20, 7:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Exhibit Hall D-E, Level 800, South Building.
Registration/Course Enrollment at Sheraton Centre Hotel: Friday, May 15, noon-6 p.m.; Saturday-Tuesday, May 16-19, 7:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Concourse Registration, Concourse Level.
Courses/Master Courses: All courses/master courses/seminars will be held at the Sheraton Centre Hotel. Course hours are Saturday-Tuesday, May 16-19, 8 a.m.-noon, 9 a.m.-4 p.m., 1 p.m.-5 p.m. Exceptions: There will be no afternoon courses on Sunday. The master course “Buprenorphine and Office-Based Treatment of Opioid Use Disorder” will be held Saturday, May 16, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., and the master course “Update on Pediatric Psychopharmacology” will be held on Wednesday, May 20, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Toronto Convention Centre.
New Research Posters: Resident Competition Poster Sessions: Saturday, May 16, 10 a.m.-noon and 2 p.m.-4 p.m.; International Poster Sessions: Sunday, May 17, 10 a.m. -noon and 2 p.m.-4 p.m. For other poster sessions, check the program. All poster sessions will be held in Exhibit Hall D-E, Level 800, South Building, Toronto Convention Centre.
Media Workshops: Along with sessions scheduled during the day, there will be one evening session each day, Saturday-Tuesday, May 16-19, 7 p.m.-10 p.m., in Ballroom A-B, Lower Level, InterContinental Toronto Centre.
Special Session: “The Mind and Music of Chopin” will be presented by Richard Kogan, M.D., on Saturday, May 16, 5:30 p.m.-7 p.m., in Room 102, Level 100, North Building, Toronto Convention Centre.
American Psychiatric Foundation Benefit: Saturday, May 16, CN Tower
MindGames: Tuesday, May 19, 5:15 p.m.-6:15 p.m., Room 106, Level 100, North Building, Toronto Convention Centre.
APA Member Center and APP Bookstore: Saturday, May 16, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.; Sunday-Tuesday, May 17-19, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Exhibit Hall D-E, Level 800, South Building, Toronto Convention Centre.

International Meetings Pavilion: Sunday-Tuesday, May 17-19, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Exhibit Hall D-E, Level 800, South Building, Toronto Convention Centre.
Shuttle Busing: Saturday-Wednesday, May 16-20. Starts each day at 7 a.m. with pickup at hotels; last departure from Toronto Convention Centre: Saturday-Monday, May 16-18, 7:30 p.m.; Tuesday-Wednesday, May 19-20, 5:30 p.m. ■
