Ghostly Apparition?

I would like to comment on the photograph taken at Walter Reed General Hospital during World War I that appeared on the front page of the November 15 issue. This is an incredibly interesting photograph in that it seems to have captured an apparition of a soldier (second from the left). I was wondering if anyone else has commented on this. Thank you for publishing this photo. (Psychiatric News).
SHARON ALLEN, M.D.

Response from APA Librarian Deena Gorland:
The photo must have been touched up at some point in its history, but we cannot explain exactly what was done. However, it certainly makes for a fascinating and engrossing photo! ■
