Convocation Lecture to Be Presented by Richard Kogan, M.D.

David Hathcox
This year’s William C. Menninger Memorial Convocation Lecture will deliver more than an interesting speech: it will include excerpts of Tchaikovsky’s music performed by a perennial favorite at APA’s Annual Meeting, Richard Kogan, M.D. Kogan is a classically trained, award-winning pianist and psychiatrist who has captivated audiences with his insights about famous composers’ psyches accompanied by excerpts of their music to aurally illustrate his points. This year he will present the lecture “Tchaikovsky: Music and Melancholy.” Be sure to come early to the session—in past years, meeting attendees had to be turned away because of the popularity of his presentations. ■
The Convocation of Distinguished Fellows will be held Monday, April 27, in the Pennsylvania Convention Center. More details will appear in a future issue of Psychiatric News.
