Commission Has Diverse Representation

The 13 members of APA’s Commission on Public Policy, Litigation, and Advocacy were selected to ensure that decisions about which projects should receive financial support are made with a broad representation of psychiatric constituencies. These are the commission members:
Richard Ciccone, M.D., chair
Robert Denney, M.D.
Vivian Pender, M.D.
Harvey Ruben, M.D.
Prakesh Desai, M.D., representing minority and underrepresented groups
R. Dale Walker, M.D., representing minority and underrepresented groups
Paul Appelbaum, M.D., chair of the APA Committee on District Branch Relations
Renee Binder, M.D., chair of the Commission on Judicial Action
Mary Helen Davis, M.D., vice chair of the Joint Commission on Public Affairs
Elizabeth Howell, M.D., a district branch president
Steven Sharfstein, M.D., vice chair of the Joint Commission on Government Relations
Seth Stein, J.D., a district branch executive director
Albert Vogel, M.D., representing the APA Board of Trustees
