Academic Psychiatry Seeks Editor

A new editor is being sought for Academic Psychiatry, the nation’s oldest journal devoted to research and scholarship focusing on academic and educational issues in psychiatry.
Academic Psychiatry, published by the American Psychiatric Press Inc., is jointly sponsored by the American Association of Directors of Psychiatric Residency Training (AADPRT) and the Association for Academic Psychiatry (AAP).
The journal has enjoyed a distinguished position in the field and was recently listed in Index Medicus. Originally published in 1977 as the Journal of Psychiatric Education, it was renamed Academic Psychiatry in 1989.
The current editor is Paul Mohl, M.D., who plans to step down within the next year.
Representing the sponsoring associations, John Herman, M.D., and Michelle Riba, M.D., have been charged with conducting a national search for a successor.
Applicants should submit a letter, current curriculum vitae, and the names of three references qualified to comment on the applicant’s suitability for this position to Lucille Meinsler, AADPRT Executive Office, University of Connecticut Health Center, 10 Talcott Road, East Wing, Farmington, Conn. 06030-6410. Applicants may also send their materials by e-mail, which is preferred, to [email protected].
