Members-in-Training To Get Special Discount

The APPI Bookstore at APA’s 2002 annual meeting will be open only for members-in-training (MITs) bright and early on Sunday, May 19. From 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., MITs will have exclusive shopping privileges and will receive a 25 percent discount off the retail price of books in the APPI Bookstore.
“We’re anxious to get know more members-in-training,” said Robert E. Hales, M.D., APPI’s editor in chief. “We also feel that these exclusive hours and discount will encourage younger members to become more familiar with the breadth of titles we have to offer and will enable them to better understand how our content can help them expand their base of knowledge in their chosen specialty.”
Also on Sunday, authors of APPI books will be recognized at the First Annual APPI Author’s Luncheon. The luncheon will recognize authors of APPI books that have been published since the 2001 annual meeting.
This year the APPI Bookstore will be conveniently located next to the APA Resource Center in the Exhibit Hall of the Pennsylvania Convention Center. Now APA members will be able to review all publications—books and journals—and learn more about all the new activities, resources, and services provided by APA in one central location.
APPI authors will be available in the bookstore to sign copies of their books. The schedule of book signings will be published in the Daily Bulletin. Registrants are also invited to drop by the bookstore to talk with Hales or John McDuffie, APPI’s new editorial director.
