Connecting With Congress

Vivian Pender, M.D., APAPAC secretary and president of the New York County District Branch, and New York Congressman Eliot Engel (R) met recently in Washington, D.C., with former President Bill Clinton. The purpose of the meeting was to thank Engel for his support in Congress of APA’s legislative priorities and present him with a contribution from APAPAC. Pender’s visit is part of an ongoing program of APAPAC in which APA members educate federal and state legislators and policymakers about mental health issues.
