INFORMATION ON THE CANDIDATES
Published Online: 5 December 2003

This SPECIAL ELECTION SECTION provides information on the 13 CANDIDATES running for office in the ASSOCIATION’S 2004 ELECTION.

For this section, the candidates in APA’s 2004 election were asked to supply a biographical sketch and a statement in which they could discuss their views on any issues in psychiatry. This information is intended to help voters cast their ballots for the candidates they believe are best qualified for office.
Here are a couple of important notes about this year’s election:
• APA voting members will be able to vote online. It is hoped that the ease offered by Internet voting will encourage more members to participate in the election. For more information about online voting, see “Preview the APA Ballot” on page 39.
• The ballots will be mailed to all voting members on January 5. Mailed ballots must be received by Intelliscan Inc. no later than February 5. This is also the last date for online voting.
