Krauthammer to Present Convocation Lecture

Charles Krauthammer, a nationally syndicated columnist and winner of the 1987 Pulitzer Prize for distinguished commentary, will present the William C. Menninger Memorial Lecture at this year’s annual meeting. The Convocation will be held on Monday, May 19, 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., in Hall E, exhibit level, Moscone Center.
Krauthammer earned a medical degree from Harvard in 1975 and was chief resident in psychiatry at Massachusetts General Hospital. In 1978 he quit medical practice, came to Washington, D.C., to direct planning in psychiatric research for the Carter administration, and began contributing articles to the New Republic. He joined the publication’s staff as a writer and editor in 1980. Krauthammer began writing a weekly column for the Washington Post in 1985, and it now appears in more than 100 newspapers.
