WPA to Hold 2004 Congress In Italy

The 2004 International Congress of the World Psychiatric Association will be held November 10 to 13 in Florence, Italy.
The congress is expected to be one of the main psychiatric events of the year, with more than 5,000 participants. The aim of the congress is to provide a comprehensive and high-quality update on all evidence-based treatments available today for the various mental disorders (including all drug treatments, all types of psychotherapies, the various psychosocial interventions, and mental health services in the community).
The scientific program will include 14 plenary update lectures; 36 interactive symposia; 14 advanced courses; six forums; about 70 symposia organized by various WPA components; and about 50 workshops, new research sessions, and poster sessions. Special events include a welcome reception, free organ concert in a famous church, three museum tours, and the congress dinner.
The scientific program of the Congress has been approved by the AMA for a maximum number of Category 1 credits.
