Nominations Invited For Appointment To Psychiatry RRC

APA invites nominations for appointment to the Residency Review Committee (RRC) for Psychiatry. The position available, for a child and adolescent psychiatrist, will be filled for a three-year term (renewable once).
The term begins January 1, 2005, although the new appointee must attend the RRC meeting in October 2004. The appointee must be a present or past psychiatry residency training director or otherwise be intimately familiar with the “Essentials and the Special Requirements for Psychiatry,” and must have had hands-on experience with the administration of a psychiatry residency training program.
The psychiatrist must be a nationally known and well-respected educator in psychiatry and certified in child and adolescent psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. The appointee also must be an APA member in good standing.
It is essential that RRC members commit to attending all RRC meetings, including the fall meeting prior to their appointment date and a workshop for specialist site visitors, and be available as a specialty site visitor. Every effort is made to achieve a diverse group of appointees.
The deadline to submit nomination is June 30. Letters of nomination, including a curriculum vitae, should be sent to Nancy Delanoche, APA Office of Graduate and Undergraduate Education, 1000 Wilson Boulevard, Suite 1825, Arlington, Va. 22209-3901.
