New Team Assumes APA’s Top Leadership Positions

Michelle Riba, M.D., met with Steven Sharfstein, M.D., last month at APA headquarters in Arlington, Va., a few weeks after the results of APA’s 2004 election were announced. At the end of APA’s 2004 annual meeting in New York City next month, Riba will assume the presidency of APA, and Sharfstein will become president-elect.
Other APA members who will take their news offices at the same time are Carolyn Robinowitz, M.D., as treasurer; Renée Binder, M.D., as trustee-at-large; Susan Rich, M.D., as member-in-training trustee; Daniel T. Mamah, M.D., as member-in-training trustee-elect; and Thomas Ciesla, M.D., as Area 6 trustee. Roger Peele, M.D., was reelected for a second term as Area 3 trustee.
