Spurlock Fellowship

APA and the American Psychiatric Foundation, in collaboration with the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, invite nominations for the Jeanne Spurlock Congressional Fellowship.
The Jeanne Spurlock Congressional Fellowship provides general psychiatry and child psychiatry residents a unique opportunity to work in a congressional office or committee on federal health policy, particularly policy related to child and minority issues. The recipient will serve a six-month fellowship on Capitol Hill from January 1, 2005, to June 30, 2005.
This fellowship was established in honor of the late Jeanne Spurlock, M.D., who was director of APA’s Office of Minority/National Affairs and an advocate for child and minority issues.
The fellowship is open to APA members who are PGY-2 or PGY-3 general psychiatry residents, child psychiatry residents, or child psychiatrists who will be out of training for less than one year at the time of the fellowship.
Applications, in the form of a letter, three letters of recommendation, and a CV, should be sent to Marilyn King; APA Department of Minority/National Affairs, 1000 Wilson Boulevard, Suite 1825, Arlington, Va. 22209 by May 24. This fellowship is supported by an unrestricted educational grant from Wyeth.
More information is available by contacting Marilyn King by phone at (703) 907-8653 or e-mail at [email protected].
