Session Explores Treating Minorities

APA members seeking to enlarge their understanding of caring for minority patients with mental illness should plan on attending the workshop “The Multicul- tural Dimensions of Depression: A Clini- cal Approach” at APA's 2005 annual meet- ing.
The workshop will be presented by some of APA's minority fellows, who will explore issues about depression and obstacles to seeking treatment in African-American, Chinese-American, Latino, Native American/Alaskan, and South-West Asian communities in the United States.
The workshop will be held Monday, May 23, at 11 a.m. in the Omni Hotel in the Spruce Room, located on the Atrium Terrace Level in the South Tower.
The session will be chaired by Gonzalo Laje, M.D., who will be joined by presenters Angel Caraballo, M.D., Yolonda Coleman, M.D., Daniel Dickerson, D.O., Luisa Gonzalez, M.D., Jennifer Lee, M.D., and Shrikhande Aditi, M.D.▪
