Game Will Be Home Run For Psychiatric Foundation

Baseball fans arriving in Toronto for APA's 2006 annual meeting can enjoy the summer game at discount prices while also supporting the American Psychiatric Foundation.
“Win-win” is how Michele Werner, director of development for the foundation, described a deal that allows APA members to reserve baseline, field-level seats at two Toronto Blue Jays games at Rogers Centre while also contributing to APA's charitable and educational foundation.
On Tuesday and Wednesday, May 23 and May 24, the Blue Jays will be playing the Tampa Bay Devil Rays at 7 p.m. at Rogers Centre, directly across from the Toronto Convention Centre. The Blue Jays organization is reserving a large block of field-level seats exclusively for APA members and guests at a price of Can$22 on Tuesday and Can$29 on Wednesday.
For each ticket they buy, members will be contributing Can$7 to the foundation on Tuesday, and Can$10 on Wednesday.
But Harry Einbinder, of the Toronto Blue Jays organization, said that special seating requests can be accommodated anywhere in the stadium within the designated price range.
The American Psychiatric Foundation is the philanthropic and educational arm of APA. Its mission is to advance public understanding that mental illnesses are real and can be effectively treated. The foundation promotes awareness of mental illness and the effectiveness of treatment, the importance of early intervention, access to care, and the need for high-quality services and treatment through a combination of grants, research funding, and awards. The foundation's work reaches businesses, schools, and community organizations that are committed to educating the public about mental illness.
A ticket order form and seating chart are posted on the foundation's Web site at<www.psychfoundation.org>. Members may also contact Einbinder by phone at (888) 654-6529, ext.1666, or by e-mail at [email protected].
