APA/Lilly Resident Research Award Winners Selected

Five residents have been selected to receive the 2007 APA/Lilly Resident Research Award. The award, supported by an education grant from Eli Lilly and Co., is given annually to five psychiatry residents who submit the best original, unpublished scientific paper. A $1,000 award is given to the residency program in which the resident was in training at the time the work was completed. The check and a plaque will be presented to the residents during the Convocation of Distinguished Fellows at APA's 2007 annual meeting in San Diego.
These are the winners and their winning papers:
Roger Jou, M.D., M.P.H., Yale University: “Abnormalities in White Matter Structure in Autism Spectrum Disorders Detected by Diffusion Tensor Imaging”
Amir Garakani, M.D., Mount Sinai School of Medicine: “The Effect of Doxapram on Brain Imaging in Patients With Panic Disorder”
Xingjia Cui, M.D., M.P.H., M.S., University of Rochester: “Does Depression Precede or Follow Executive Dysfunction? Outcomes in Older Primary Care Patients”
Manpreet Singh, M.D., University of Cincinnati College of Medicine:“ Psychopathology in Children of Bipolar Parents”
Daniel Eisenberg, M.D., Beth Israel Medical Center: “Abnormal Nociception in Remitted Heroin Dependence Months After Detoxification From Methadone”
