Your Input Invited

Two draft practice guidelines are now available for review by APA members. They may be accessed from the Members Corner of the APA Web site at<www.psych.org/guidelines> by clicking on “Psychiatric Practice” and then “Practice Guideline Drafts for Review.” Comments are due by July 7.
The third edition of the Practice Guideline for the Treatment of Patients With Bipolar Disorder was developed by a work group chaired by Robert M.A. Hirschfeld, M.D., and Paul E. Keck Jr., M.D., with oversight by APA's Steering Committee on Practice Guidelines. The third edition of the Practice Guideline for the Treatment of Patients With Major Depressive Disorder was developed by a work group chaired by Alan J. Gelenberg, M.D., also with oversight by the steering committee.
The next drafts of these practice guidelines, incorporating input from reviewers, will be submitted for final approval to the APA Assembly in November and the Board of Trustees in December.
Questions about the draft guidelines can be directed to Rob Kunkle by phone at (703) 907-8578 or by e-mail to [email protected].
