Rural Mental Health Resources

Grant applications for extending medical care to underserved regions and research on medical shortages in rural areas are available through many government Web sites, including several associated with the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA).
These include links to the Office of Rural Health Policy, which provides funding for medical initiatives (including mental health and substance abuse initiatives) in rural areas. More information about the grants is posted at<ruralhealth.hrsa.gov/funding/GrantPrograms.htm>.
HRSA also has a one-year research program to disseminate findings from studies of rural health services, with information posted at<ruralhealth.hrsa.gov/policy/RHRC/rhrccoop.htm>.
