APA Honors Excellence in D.B. Newsletters

Every year, APA recognizes outstanding newsletters produced by its district branches and state associations. Each award category is based on the number of members in the district branch or state association. There are also awards for individual articles and editorials from the newsletters. Here are the 2007 Newsletter of the Year Award winners:
100-200 members:
Winner: Synapse, West Hudson Psychiatric Society
Honorable Mention: Nevada Psychiatric Association Newsletter, Nevada Psychiatric Association
200-500 members:
Winner: Louisiana Psychiatric Medical Association Newsletter, Louisiana Psychiatric Medical Association
Continuing Excellence: The Spectrum, Indiana Psychiatric Society
Honorable Mention: The Kentucky Psychiatrist, Kentucky Psychiatric Medical Association
500 or more members:
Winner: New Jersey Psychiatrist, New Jersey Psychiatric Association
Continuing Excellence: The Wisconsin Psychiatrist, Wisconsin Psychiatric Association
Honorable Mention: The Bulletin, North Carolina Psychiatric Association
Best Editorial:
Winner: “The Insanity Defense: Not so Easy,” by Robert Sobel, M.D. and Syed Abdullah, M.D., Synapse, West Hudson Psychiatric Society.
