A Treat That Keeps on Giving

While you are in Washington, D.C., for APA's 2008 annual meeting, you can support the cause of children's literacy while sampling the cuisine of more than 40 award-winning chefs. Called “Sweet Charity,” this annual fundraiser is hosted by the nonprofit Heart of America Foundation in Washington, D.C. The event, which will be held Monday, May 5, at the Mandarin Oriental, will feature tasting stations, cooking demonstrations, silent and live auctions, and a chocolate fashion show (that alone might make attendance worthwhile). All money raised from ticket sales and the silent and live auctions goes toward the purchase of a book by a child in need.
