APA's Political Action Committee Meets With Rep. Todd Young

John Wernert, M.D. (second from left), chair of the APAPAC Board of Directors, presents a campaign contribution to U.S. Rep. Todd Young (R-Ind.) at the recent Area 4 Council meeting. Young serves on the House Armed Services and Budget committees. Accompanying Wernert are APAPAC member David Diaz, M.D., and Indiana Psychiatric Association President Heather Fretwell, M.D. The visit is part of an ongoing program at APA—through APAPAC—in which APA members educate federal legislators and policymakers about mental health and physician issues. Read more about APAPAC at <www.psych.org/MainMenu/AdvocacyGovernmentRelations/PoliticalActionCommittee/WhatisAPAPAC.aspx>. Your participation and contributions are important, especially as the 2012 election approaches.
