HAPA to Meet

The Hellenic American Psychiatric Association (HAPA) will hold its 12th annual meeting on Tuesday, May 17, in conjunction with APA's 2011 annual meeting in Honolulu.
The meeting will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Hilton Hawaiian Village. A "Dutch treat" dinner will follow.
Paul Barkopoulos, M.D., M.P.H., will present the address "New Directions and Controversies in Psychopharmacology: Neuroprotection and Neurogenesis?" He is an assistant clinical professor of psychiatry at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and an attending physician at the UCLA Medical Center.
HAPA was founded in May 1999. Its mission is to foster close communication and networking among psychiatrists in the United States and Greece and in the Greek diaspora.
Those interested in attending the meeting and the dinner must preregister. A dues payment of $52 ($27 for members-in-training) should be sent, along with a membership application, to HAPA Treasurer Arthur Papas, M.D., at 5 Byron Road, Weston, Mass. 02493-2228. The application can be downloaded from <http://hellenic-psych.org/membership.php>.
More information about the meeting is available from Maria Lymberis, M.D., HAPA founder and past president, at maria{at}lymberis.com.
