Perspectives on Mental Health Administration : An Interview With Saul Feldman

Abstract

Last November about 100 people from across the country who occupy leadership positions in mental health organizations attended the second National Conference on Mental Health Administration in Chicago. The Conference was sponsored by the staff College of the National Institute of Mental Health, Region 2 of the Alcohol Drug Abuse, and mental Health Administration, and the National Council of Community Mental Health Centers. Saul Feldman, D.P.A., director of the Staff College and founder and editor of the journal Administration in Mental Health, was the chairman of the conference. In an interview with H & CP managing editor Teddye Clayton, he talked informally about the conference, some of the issues and problems surrounding mental health administration, and some personal experiences that have shaped his views of the field.
