Narcotic Poisoning: A Review of the Literature

Abstract

Varied adverse physical reactions to narcotic drugs are being reported increasingly in the medical literature. The findings indicate a morbid physical prognosis for the habitual narcotic user. The author reviews the literature on such complications and emphasizes the need for increased prevention and treatment interventions by the medical and nursing professions.
