Abstract

In the January 1982 issue, the first six sentences of the third paragraph in the letter to the Editor "Dyskinesia and Unipolar Depression" by Paul S. Appelbaum, M.D., p. 140, should read as follows:
At the time of admission, Ms. A had been receiving maintenance therapy with imipramine, 75 mg/day. She displayed rhythmic movements of her pelvis, an antalgic gait in her right leg, facial grimacing, and dyskinetic movements of her hands. The physical findings remained unchanged during 2 weeks of treatment with imipramine, 100 mg/day, and acetophenazine, 20 mg/day. When Ms. A's mental status cleared after adjustment of her tricyclic dosage to 25 mg/day of imipramine, the neurologic findings, including the limp, disappeared. Nineteen days later, despite continuance of medication, Ms. A relapsed into an agitated depression, and the abnormal movements reappeared. Upward adjustment of her medications to 25-50 mg/day of imipramine and 40 mg/day of acetophenazine was followed 1 week later by the disappearance of both psychiatric and physical findings.
The staff regrets the errors.
