Abstract

Consultation with colleagues is an essential component of medical education, undergraduate and postgraduate, and should continue as a part of ongoing clinical medical practice. This need exists equally in the practice of psychotherapy. Ongoing mutual relationships of trust and respect between colleagues can be most helpful toward the resolution of difficulties in psychotherapy, through the use of consultation. Such interrelationships are one example of collaborative undertakings that can benefit those who are engaged in psychotherapeutic education and practice.
