Abstract

The understanding and treatment of aloneness is at the core of working with borderline personality disorder patients. The origins of this aloneness will be explored, and related to its manifestations in psychotherapy. The close connection between the resolution of borderline aloneness and the process of change in the psychotherapy of borderline patients will be elaborated.
