Abstract

Practicing psychologists were surveyed to determine the extent to which they referenced their personal code (as compared to legal or professional codes) when making decisions about breaching confidentiality. Those who believed in absolute confidentiality (approximately one-fourth) were compared with others in regard to their knowledge, beliefs, and actions concerning confidentiality.
