Therapeutic Models of Psychopathology: Part II: The Influence of Activators, Biological Factors, and the Childhood Environment on the Psychological Organization

Abstract

Part II of this paper deals with the interaction of the psychological organization of the individual with events in the environment such as “activators,” to create the personal meanings involved in thought, feelings and behaviors. The importance of feedback processes, interactions and sequences is stressed. Finally, the interaction of biological factors with the childhood interpersonal environment in the development of psychological structure and organization is discussed.
