The Advocate's Guide to SSI for Children, third edition

The Bazelon Center offers an entirely new edition of its manual for working with the laws, regulations, policies, and procedures that govern children's eligibility for Supplemental Security Income (SSI) disability benefits. A CD-ROM version with identical con- tent is also available. The manual, with 19 chapters and ten appendixes, is intended to guide lawyers, advocates, and service providers through the Social Security Administration's complex application and appeal pro- cedures and the more restrictive eligibility standards established by the 1996 welfare law. Lay terms, graphics, advocacy tips, and case examples are used throughout. Either the manual or the CD-ROM costs $75 (both are available for $120), plus $10 postage and handling, from the center's publi- cations desk at 1101 15th Street, N.W., Suite 1212, Washington, D.C. 20005; phone, 202-467-5730.
