The average length of time in the health care system prior to the diagnosis of multiple personality was 98.77 months. The projected potential saving per case due to the diagnosis and treatment of the dissociative disorder was $84,899.44 during the first ten years following diagnosis. The diagnosis and treatment of multiple personality disorder with specific psychotherapy appears to be cost-effective.
