Abstract

A community shortage of outpatient mental health services led to the establishment of an evening mental health clinic at Cleveland Metropolitan General Hospital in March 1971. The evening hours have not only made mental health services more accessible to many patients, but have also enabled the clinic to employ mental health professionals who work elsewhere during the day. The authors describe the clinic and the characteristics of some of the patients seen during the first year.
