A Continuous-Care Model of Crisis Intervention for Children and Adolescents

Without increasing our staff or relying on other agencies for long-term treatments, we have managed to combine effective crisis intervention with long-term continuous care for children and adolescents with severe psychopathology. Only 8.7 percent of our yearly population is readmitted. Satisfaction scales administered as part of the evaluation of the unit have indicated a high degree of satisfaction by both parents and children with most respects of our program. The unit is intensively used as a training and research center for our academic department.
