Abstract

A transference interpretation varies with the therapist’s understanding of the phenomenon of transference. The concept of transference as a “total situation” is particularly suitable to the complexity of the analytic group situation. It emphasizes the multiplicity of the object-relational aspects of transference, and the constant fluctuation of regression.
