New York City Voices—www.newyorkcityvoices.com New York City Voices: A Consumer Journal for Mental Health Advocacy is a consumer-run newspaper founded in 1995 and published six times a year. Its purpose is to give consumers a forum for mutual support for independent living and to improve the quality of life for people with mental illness and their families. The articles are written by consumers, family members, and professionals and examine a range of mental health topics, such as stigma, parity, benefits, schizophrenia and violence, public policy, and legislative initiatives.
