The occurrence of seizures after head injury is a recognized complication of traumatic brain injury (TBI) and worsens functional outcome after TBI (Asikainen et al. 1999). This chapter provides a review of the definition, incidence, natural history, clinical assessment, and treatment options for patients with posttraumatic epilepsy (PTE).
