Sexual dysfunctions are characterized by disturbance in sexual functioning or desire. Gender dysphoria refers to problems in one’s sense of maleness or femaleness. Paraphilic disorders involve unusual sexual preferences. In DSM-5, each of these disorder classes has its own chapter, but the classes are grouped together here for convenience.
