Levin Appointed to VA Advisory Group

Department of Veterans Affairs
APA CEO and Medical Director Saul Levin, M.D., M.P.A. (front row, third from right) poses for a group photo of the Department of Veterans Affairs Special Medical Advisory Group (SMAG) last month in the VA’s central office in Washington, D.C. As a member of SMAG, Levin provides advice to Secretary of Veterans Affairs David Shulkin, M.D., and Carolyn Clancy, M.D., executive in charge of the Office of the Under Secretary for Health, on matters relating to the care and treatment of veterans as well as research, education, and workforce training. Levin was selected for his “exceptional knowledge and national leadership [that] offer a perspective that our committee needs and veterans deserve” to carry out “the most noble mission in government, in—paraphrasing Lincoln—caring for those who’ve borne the battle.”
