Travel to Javits Center Is Now a Breeze!

Getting to APA’s Annual Meeting from anywhere in New York City is a lot easier and faster than the last time the meeting was held there with the extension of the new number 7 train to 34th Street/Hudson Yards, a few steps from the Javits Center.
APA veterans can remember the glacial pace of moving across the city in surface-bound shuttle buses. Now meeting goers have a choice. The 7 train starts in Queens and runs westward across Manhattan before reaching the Javits Center.
The three stops along the way are also transfer points for all major north-south lines in Manhattan, as well as many coming from Brooklyn, Queens, and the Bronx. Stops include Grand Central-42nd Street (S 4 5 6 trains), 5 Avenue-Bryant Park (B D F M trains), and Times Square-42 Street (A C E N Q R S W 1 2 3 trains).
Subway fares are a flat $2.75 ($3 for a single ride ticket). Riders must first purchase an MTA MetroCard from machines or booth attendants in any subway station. Machines accept cash, debit cards, and credit cards. An unlimited MetroCard lets riders travel as often as they wish for seven days for just $32. Discounts are available for persons aged 65 and older and for disabled riders.
Subways and buses operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week, so APA attendees can enjoy New York’s night life and still get back to their hotels quickly.
